Head of Section CK21 – Central Reporting Point and National IT Situation Centre, Federal Office for Information Security (BSI)
Dr.-Ing. Christian Eibl studied computer science with minor subject medical computer science. He earned a doctoral degree with the topic of information security in web-based systems. Since 2011 he is employed at the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
Starting in the office of the National IT Crisis Response Centre he was responsible for the conceptualisation of crisis management structures and processes, which he refined on the basis of practical findings and experience from the management of physical situations.
By now he is the head of the section „Central Reporting Point and National IT Situation Centre“ where reports of security incidents and situation related events from government, economy and critical infrastructure organisations get collected, assessed, and re-distributed as warnings and situation reports to the constituency.
In his spare time he is an active member of aid agencies since over twenty years. He supported in catastrophic situations, worked for the ambulance service, and is an active member of a volunteer fire brigade.
