    Preface PMRExpo 2018

    Dear Guests, Exhibitors,

It is a tradition that the Minister of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia takes over the patronage of the PMRExpo. I am very pleased to be able to continue this tradition and would like to welcome you to the leading trade fair for professional mobile communications and control centres in Europe. The three-day conference during PMRExpo will take place under the title “Secure Communications Summit”. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is focusing on the secure networking of control centres and secure communication between crisis management committees - topics which will also be the focal point of our participation in the trade fair.

The ever-increasing technological opportunities for data exchange must be exploited swiftly, but not without due consideration of the security aspects. Once again, we will present over 200 companies from the industry and their latest products and solutions to interested members of the expert audience including people from the security services, businesses and the services industry. Be inspired and profit from the diverse opportunities to obtain information and exchange experiences. On that note, I hope you have a wonderful time in Cologne with many inspiring discussions and great success.

Herbert Reul, Minister of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia

    Preface PMRExpo 2018

In recent years, the PMRExpo has developed into the leading European trade fair for secure communication and with that, has grown substantially. The satisfaction of visitors and exhibitors is great. For the PMeV as the body responsible for the idea and EW Medien und Kongresse as the organiser, growth and satisfaction of everyone involved are incentive and motivation to continuously develop the PMRExpo – geared towards the interests and wishes of visitors and industries. The PMRExpo should always be cutting edge in the future.

The classical PMR application industries are particularly strongly represented at the PMRExpo. However, not all end users of systems for security critical communication are currently represented in relation to their strong significance.

We want to change this, and especially address the transport and supply sector of the industry. Our goal is to expand the diversity of topics. More diversity of topics always means to be even more geared towards the individual needs and interests of visitors.

Stronger than before, visitors of the PMRExpo would not only profit in the future from the formats and themes tailored to their corresponding user segments, but also particularly from more intensive exchange and the chance to building networks – beyond their corresponding industries. In the future, the PMRExpo should be a marketplace for ideas and solutions of end users, because thses end users have one thing in common: the need for secure communication. They can learn and profit from one another.

Dr. Klaus Hütten, Chairman PMeV – Network Secure Communication
